A book combining gaming, escape rooms, historical figures and more… what’s not to like? Fabulous, serious, funny. LOVED the relationship between Arthur, Cecile and Ren. Great!

My daughter recommended this book after she started to read it at school, as a class reader. I read Wonderscape and then, subsequently went on to read the three Crooked Sixpence books and I’ve just bought the 2nd book, Legendarium. My daughter has been told that they can’t read ahead but the teacher hasn’t made any time for it recently. Think its going to be a summer read… 🇺🇦

A full on adventure story with lots of action. 3 young people who don’t know each other have to work together to find out how to survive, work out what is going on, and get back home. In the process they find friendship and meet inspiring people from world history. Would appeal to people who like adventures, and playing video games set in other worlds.

I enjoyed the conversations between Arthur, Ren and Cecily, particularly when Ren interacts as she is quite grumpy and very practical. The way the children approached problem solving was a nice mixture of instinct and collaboration. Wondercloaks are also a nice touch, a sort of wearable interactive whiteboard. Speaking of fashion, top scientists should always wear fluffy slippers! Overall an enjoyable story with a good sense of urgency and an interesting spin on historical figures.

My favourite book of the year! A fantastically exciting story on many levels. A group of strangers find themselves thrust into a virtual reality world where they must solve a series of puzzles, win levels and progress through a game in order to get back home. Along the way they are helped by holograms of famous people as they learn to work to their strengths and work as a team. Highly recommended.

A book based on virtual reality and gaming one which will definitely appeal to younger readers. The main characters must crack the challenge and triumph against their opponents in order to escape and come back to reality. I really enjoyed this book and the description of each realm included incredible detail.

Arthur, Ren and Cecily make an unlikely trio of heroes who find themselves 300 years in the future AND in an in-reality adventure game! Time is short—can they escape? If you love gaming or adventure books—this one is for you!
